The Oxford Pakistan Society is comprised of a versatile and multi-faceted group of students and former students brought together by a shared love for Pakistan. The Society believes firmly in the importance of promoting, preserving and celebrating Pakistan's gloriously rich cultural life, seeking to give as many people as possible a taste of all it has to offer to the world. Equally, we encourage Pakistanis new to the UK to meet others in a similar position, enabling a mutual enrichment through exchanged experience. As such the society serves as a meeting-point between Pakistan and the UK, and the Pakistani community.

In order to facilitate these goals, a colourful range of events are organised and widely advertised, including hugely popular buffet dinners, mushairas with poets from all over the UK, topical lectures and cultural events. On principle, the bare minimum is charged at these events, to ensure that no-one is deterred from participating for monetary reasons. However, our hands are very much tied by a limited budget, relying heavily on the generosity of sponsors.
