A message from the President

Assalam-u-alaikum,

I, as the president of Oxford University Pakistan Society, welcome you all to the society's official website. It is a privilege for me to represent the Pakistanis studying at the University of Oxford. I must utilize this opportunity to thank the previous committees for all the work they have done and for the events they organized during their tenure.

The Oxford University Pakistan Society aims to promote the heritage and culture of Pakistan and provides a social platform for Pakistani students to get to know each other and form strong relationships. The Society not only serves as a medium of cultural exchange with student societies of other countries, we also aim to promote awareness about Pakistan’s internal and foreign affairs while engaging the students in debate regarding important issues. As part of a small and privileged group of Pakistani students to get the opportunity to study at this hallowed institution, the Society also aims to be at the forefront for a positive change in our country and lay the intellectual grounds for the formation of a progressive, democratic Pakistan. Our aim is nothing less than to nurture a crop of youth geared towards working for the Pakistan dreamt of by the founding fathers of this great country.

I hope that my committee will work together to stay true to the ethos of this society and take us to higher levels of excellence. Over the past several months, the current and the previous committee's work has transformed OUPakSoc into one of the most prominent and active Pakistani societies in the country.
